Farzin Adenwalla creates unique, thoughtful design. Her design are shaped by her upbringing in New Zealand, her Persian heritage, and her appreciation of contemporary functional design. 


Born in New Zealand, Farzin Adenwalla grew up in near the West Coast, North Island, studying at Victoria university's Architecture & Design school, before moving to Mumbai to work for architect Rahul Mehrotra, following a few years working for established studios. 


Working across a variety of architecture and interior projects, Farzin Adenwalla founded her studio, Bombay Atelier in 2016. Works have been presented and published internationally, as well as exhibited at  London Design Week, Ambiente Frankfurt, and Salone Satellite.


She was also awarded the EDIDA Young Talent award and recently featured in Thames & Hudson's publication as one of Asia's emerging designers, "Design in Asia". 

  • Featured in Design Anthology’s new publication, Design in Asia: The New Wave, an exposition of 100 of the most promising emerging designers working throughout the region today. (Published by Thames & Hudson)

  • Selected for Salone Satellite 2020 ( Postponed till 2022) 

  • Asana table and Mister chai featured as one of "Indian design through 200 classic objects" in Phaidon publication 'Sar: The Essence of Indian Design"

  • Farzin’s proposal “Marine Chiffon” selected in Top 10 globally for Google x Jacquard Design Residency 2019

  • Received 2014 Elle Decor India "Young Talent of the Year". Farzin Adenwalla was invited by Elle Decor and Ambiente Frankfurt to participate in the "Young Talent" section of Ambiente.

  • Selected by the BE OPEN foundation to produce a collection of premium furniture for the exhibition " Samskara, Made in India. Selected among 20 established and renowned Indian designers in fashion, furniture, objects, and textiles.

  • Part of Create Culture exhibition at London Design Festival September 2015 along with six other design studios from India.

  • Part of WORKSHOPPED 2015 Design Exhibition, Sydney.

  • Invited to exhibit in Milan Design Week, April 2015.

  • Farzin was invited to curate the HOMI ASIA Indian pavilion in Milan in September 17.

  • Farzin’s proposal “Marine Chiffon” selected as top 10 globally for Google x Jacquard Design Residency 2019
